Using Web Folders on an Apple Mac
The method used to connect to Web Folders from an Apple Mac is different to that used by Windows. You cannot connect using the Web Folder buttons on the main web services page. Instead, please follow the instructions below.
Pre-requisites
Connecting to the school servers
1. Using Finder, click on Go – Connect to Server….
2. If you are a member of staff, enter the following into the server address box: https://folders.dorothy-stringer.co.uk/webfolders, then click Connect
OR
If you are a student, enter the following: https://folders.dorothy-stringer.co.uk/studentwebfolders, then click Connect.
3. Enter your username and password when prompted and click OK.
4. The connection will stay active until you either eject Webfolders (or StudentWebFolders) – using the file menu, or you log off from the computer.
- We recommend that you follow normal "safe practice" when accessing the Internet; use up-to-date antivirus software, a firewall and anti-spyware protection.
- If you share your home computer with others, do not tick "Remember My Password" or "Save This Password" when prompted for your details.
- When you have finished working, please make sure that you eject WebFolders (or StudentWebFolders) - using the file menu, or log off from the computer.
- It is NOT recommended that you use Web Folders on a public computer (i.e. a public library).
