Assessment will be by GCSE modular examinations each term. Each exam is worth 12.5% of the GCSE.
Pupils opting to study Core and Additional Science (“Double Science”) or Triple Science will study and be examined on 2 Core modules each term, so will have completed the Core GCSE by the end of Year 10. The remaining few who choose Core Science only (“Single Science”) will study only one module per term, three in Year 10 and three in Year 11.
25% of the GCSE will be assessed by an internally sat and marked “Investigative Skills Assessment” (ISA). Pupils will have three attempts at this.
