Being a Sports Captain
Being a Sports Captain has not only been a great experience for me so far but it has made me aware of all the
behind the scenes work that goes into running a PE department.
Some of our typical tasks include:
- Running interform events
- Doing odd jobs around the department (that generally consists of jobs given by Mr Townsend!)
- Attending meetings when required
- 'Haring' the famous ‘Stringer Run’
If you love sport and are committed and organised, I would recommend applying for the role of Sports Captain
when you get the chance.

The best thing about being a Sports Captain, is that you are treated as an adult and not a kid. I like having more responsibilities and helping the PE department.
I enjoy all the jobs that we are given e.g. refereeing inter form competitions, putting posters up and doing odd
jobs around the PE office.
