MFL trip to St John's College, Oxford University
A group of Dorothy Stringer students recently had the opportunity to find out about life at St John's College, Oxford. The trip was organised by Mr Lee following an invitation from an ex-Stringer student, Dr Rowan Tomlinson, who is a lecturer in French at Oxford. After a warm welcome, students got to find out about applying to Oxford to study. The best bit of advice was that Oxford colleges are not just looking for potential students who have excellent exam results but students who also show a clear passion for their subject. The Stringer students also had a French literature session in one of the college's teaching rooms followed by a well-earned lunch. After lunch we were given a special tour of the newly refurbished Ashmolean museum just across the road from St. John's. After a busy day we were still back in Brighton in time for the Carol Concert!
