On behalf of the Governing Body I would like to convey our congratulations and gratitude to all the staff and pupils who have contributed to such an excellent report.
If has been a very difficult term for the school but Brian Orrells, as Acting Head, and the Senior Management Team have worked hard to continue to move the school forward, but nothing is achieved without the excellent support of all the staff and the pupils.
This 'outstanding' OFSTED Report and the remarkable ten years of continued improvement in the GCSE exam results underlines the progress we are making at Dorothy Stringer.
All this has only been made possible through years of inspired leadership by Trevor Allen, Headmaster, who from the very start was determined to make Dorothy Stringer School an 'outstanding school'.
Trevor Allen has supported and inspired the staff to these great achievements. Sadly, he has been on sick leave since last July and we are not expecting to see him back until later in the year. However, with the structure he has developed and the desire within the School, even in his absence, the school is still moving forward and achieving great things and will continue to do so.
We, together, with all staff, pupils and parents, commend Trevor Allen and wish him a full and speedy recovery.
