Learning Support - Identification & Assessment
We have a number of ways in which pupils are identified:
Year 7 Assessments – we have a well established , systematic series of tests and consultations to recognize pupils’ particular needs :
- Primary school information
- Spelling tests
- Reading tests
- Writing assessment
- Parental advice
- Information from staff
Years 8 - 11
- Referrals from staff
- Referrals from parents
- Self referrals from pupils
Once a pupil has been identified we gather further information through:
- Interview with pupil
- Advice from staff – interim reports
- Outside agencies as appropriate
