Forthcoming School Trips
- Year 10/11 Berlin Trip - 7th-10th April 2008
- Year 9 Holocaust Talk - W/B 23rd June 2008
- Year 7 Weald Open Air Museum - 11th July 2008.....
Following the great success of last year’s trip to the Weald and Downland Museum, near Chichester, we will be running a second trip this year. It will take place in July, and will be open to anybody in Year 7 who wishes to go. The museum will give the pupils a “hands on” opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of what life was like for ordinary people during the Medieval period. There are over 50 historic buildings on the site including traditional farms; peasant cruck houses; granaries and brickmakers’ workshops. In addition, there is a kitchen where pupils can get an idea of the sort of food medieval people would have eaten. There will also be the opportunity to participate in a workshop on medieval medicine.
The cost of the trip will be approximately £25. Letters will are available from your History teacher. If you would like to see what it was like for the Year 7s who visited the Museum last year, go to our Photo Gallery!

Year 9 Ypres Trip - 8th March 2008
Year 9s had a great time visiting the town of Ypres in Belgium. They visited the ‘In Flanders Field Museum’, First World War cemeteries and original trenches from the war. Pupils looked for family names on the Menin Gate and one pupil, Bethany Coomber, found details of one of her relatives who fought in the war. We even had time to visit the famous chocolate shops!
