
Gifted and Talented
Pupils identified as Gifted and Talented in Drama have demonstrated a particular flair or ability in theatrical performance. In recognising them, we aim to offer them the opportunity to be challenged and given
opportunity to further develop their ability both in their timetabled lessons and in extra curricular activities.
Gifted and Talented students have the opportunity to take part in:
- Weekly Drama clubs either as a participant in KS3 or as an assistant at KS4.
- Activities Week Shakespeare in the Woods Performance: A Midsummer Night’s Dream 2006 and
Romeo and Juliet 2007. - Year 11 Drama Prefects.
- Extra trips and work with theatre companies: Trestle Theatre Company and Spectral Arts.
- Performance opportunities at annual Environment Awards at The Old Market Theatre.
- Observation of Key Stage 4 assessed performances.
- Annual New York trip.
- Performance Opportunities in the school production and touring Theatre in Education Company.
A number of Stringer pupils identified as Gifted and Talented have gone on to take part in courses run by
the National Youth Theatre (Steffi Nash, Charlie Royce, Callum McIntyre) National Youth Music Theatre
(Sophie Griffiths and Callum McIntyre) and have gone on to audition for and attend The Brit School in Croydon.
